It is a pleasure for me to offer this activity as an extension of my coaching practice. The Heart & Goals Vision Board Party is an altered version of my workshop and accommodates a small intimate group environment.
It is important that as the host you have an idea of what to expect and how to plan for a successful Vision Board event. A vision board is a collage of images and words that reflect your vision for the future. Often times, individuals misunderstand that the end product, the vision board is the most important. However, it is the process and the preparation of thought that takes place before the vision board is created, that is truly the most important and determining factor of success. To ensure that the process is rewarding, participants will be given journaling exercises that help them to focus on their vision for the future. The key to this process is to create a positive mindset for designing a vision that truly reflects the person’s values and desires. Once the journaling exercises are completed, participants will create a vision board. Participants will then be given tips on how to successfully use their vision boards. Vision Board parties are enjoyable and meaningful. I assist the host with creating an atmosphere that is fun but also gives the participants a rewarding experience.
Invitees: To lay the foundation for a successful event, it is a must that you choose your participants wisely. Invite guests that crave fulfillment, are ready to embrace change, have a desire to connect with their dreams and a passion to create a clear and meaningful vision for their future. This is not an event for naysayers. A positive group interaction depends largely on the attitude, support and encouragement of attendees.
Environment: Choose an environment where participants will be comfortable and free from distractions. If your teenage son’s rock band will be practicing in the basement, you may want to choose another time to hold your event. But seriously, try to limit distractions so that you and your participants can have an opportunity to focus, feel at ease and connect with themselves and each other. Participants will probably be most comfortable seated at a table, but others may be comfortable working on the floor. Make sure your environment is large enough for participants to be able to spread out, but in a space where they can also stay connected with the group and the facilitator.
I utilize music during the party to help motivate participants and create positive energy in the environment. Most of the music that I play is upbeat and a popular genre, but may also include jazz, meditative/nature and electronica. The music I choose is purposeful and corresponds to the activities. If you would prefer that I not play music or would prefer a different genre please let know. I am happy to accommodate your request.
Supplies: Each participant should have ample supplies so that they can create freely and move at a comfortable pace. I can provide the supplies, the host can provide the supplies or you can ask each participant to bring their own supplies. A supply list is below. I will provide a 4” x 6” journal for each participant. While I cannot guarantee a specific design or color I do try to work with the event host to have a journal that fits with the event theme.
Supply list
Duration: The Vision Board Party is approximately 2 – 3 hours and depends on the size of the group. Participants are encouraged to share if they would like to and therefore, larger groups will require more time. If you have a specific time limit, please make me aware prior to the event so that I can make adjustments in the presentation.
Minimum: There is a 5 participant minimum for the event. The final count is due 3 days prior to your event. You may want to make the response date for your invitees 5 days prior to your event so you will have ample time for follow up calls and late responders. If you would like to host an event for less than 5 participants please let me know and we can work out a different option.
